The project

The former Bibb Mill No. 1 auditorium was in danger of demolition by neglect when stabilization began. Macon Arts Alliance, the Urban Development Authority, Macon–Bibb County, private donors, and the project team organized the work in phases.

The restoration repaired the auditorium and added sound, lighting, and video systems. The room now hosts performances, exhibitions, meetings, and neighborhood arts programs.

Construction photographs show the job in sequence: damaged surfaces removed, roof framing exposed, the ceiling repaired, and the auditorium returned to use.
