The project

The building opened as a bank in 1897 and became Macon’s first modern theater in 1916. After closing in 1973, it deteriorated until a nonprofit purchased it in 2004.

Dunwody/Beeland led the major restoration with Tony Long and Piedmont Construction. The project was the first in Georgia where a nonprofit successfully applied for historic tax credits and sold them to another institution. The building now supports live entertainment and rentals.
